Biografia
Julian Bailey is a Canadian actor known for his work in film, television, and voice acting. Growing up in Montreal, he appeared in a CBC television movie and provided the voices for cherished animated characters such as Pepito in the original HBO 'Madeline' specials alongside Christopher Plummer, and Mowgli in the popular anime series 'The Jungle Book', among others.
After graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (West) in Pasadena, California, Bailey moved to Chicago, where he became active in the local theatre scene, performing in several critically acclaimed productions. He is an original member of The Piven Theatre Workshop Subscription Company in Evanston, Illinois, where he trained under Byrne and Joyce Piven, the parents of actor Jeremy Piven. After obtaining his SAG card in Chicago, he returned to Los Angeles, enduring two years of auditions without bookings while living out of his car. To support himself, Bailey sold salads and sandwiches door-to-door at hair salons in West Hollywood and Beverly Hills and worked as a character performer at children’s parties across Southern California. He later joined a stand-up comedy workshop led by renowned coach Greg Dean and was discovered by a talent agent during a showcase at The Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip.
Bailey secured a recurring role on the Lifetime series 'For The People', acting alongside Lea Thompson ('Back To The Future'). After the show was canceled after one season, he returned to various jobs including mobile lunch sales, children's parties, window cleaning, chauffeuring, and working craft services on film sets, all while continuing to land roles on shows such as 'Judging Amy', 'Just Shoot Me', 'JAG', and 'The Young and The Restless'. His guest appearance on 'NCIS' as a sociopathic young naval officer earned him international fans. Bailey has also appeared in major films like 'Dark Phoenix' with Jennifer Lawrence, 'French Exit' with Michelle Pfeiffer, the comedy 'Meeting Spencer' alongside Jesse Plemons and directed by the late BAFTA-winning Malcolm Mowbray, the slasher 'He's Out There' with Yvonne Strahovski, and the drama 'The Hummingbird Project' opposite Jesse Eisenberg.
A significant career milestone came in 2021 when Bailey was cast in Amazon Prime Video's 'Three Pines', starring alongside Alfred Molina in a dynamic ensemble. He has also ventured into video game voice acting with titles including 'Far Cry 5', 'Deus Ex: Mankind Divided', and 'The Division: Warlords of New York'. Notably, Bailey provides the lead voice for the headquarters character in Ubisoft's global hit 'Rainbow Six: Siege', a franchise with over 70 million registered players worldwide. He has also voiced characters in several foreign films and television series for Netflix, including the lead role in the English dub of the popular Korean series 'Vincenzo'.
