Biografia
Chris was born in Clydebank, near Glasgow, Scotland. He began acting at the age of thirty, having previously established and managed a homeless shelter and housing support service in his childhood home.
A graduate of the Royal Welsh College (2009), Chris now resides in North London.
His interest in drama developed while running the homeless shelter, where he engaged with amateur musical companies both on stage and behind the scenes. He subsequently performed in several semi-professional plays with the Ramshorn Theatre and Strathclyde Theatre Group, and was part of Glasgow's long-form improvisation troupe "Q-Fusion." Additionally, he worked backstage with Scottish Opera and Ballet at the Theatre Royal and Kings Theatre. To gain screen experience, he took on extra roles in the locally filmed BBC soap River City.
Chris's first theatre role was as an ASM understudy in Hobson's Choice for a touring production out of Chichester, where he also built sets at various venues and covered the main cast. A visit to Cardiff led him to apply to the Royal Welsh College, where he was accepted the same year with a Screen Academy Wales Scholarship and a full bursary from the Scottish Government.
His first screen credit came from River City before graduation, after Executive Producer Sandra MacIver spotted him working as an extra and, along with director Dan Wilson, offered him a two-episode role. On the day of his graduation from the Royal Welsh College, he was filming the new Welsh medical drama Crash. He then secured a semi-regular part on the BBC soap Doctors, appearing in twenty-two episodes, following a brief role in the BBC drama Five Daughters.
Chris's screen credits include dramas such as Game of Thrones, Call the Midwife, Silent Witness, Homefront, and Our World War, as well as feature films like Everest and Allies.
Since leaving drama school, he has averaged one play per year, focusing exclusively on new writing for leading theatres including The Royal Court, The Globe, and The National Theatre of Scotland.
