Biografia
Sergio Moure de Oteyza, born in La Coruña in 1969, studied harmony, composition, arrangements, and guitar at the "Aula de Música Moderna y Jazz" of the Barcelona Liceo Conservatory (Spain). Between 1997 and 2000, he worked as a composer and teacher at ESCAC (Superior Film School of Catalonia) and as a composer and musical coordinator for CECC (Center for Film Studies of Catalonia). In 2004, he composed the soundtrack for the feature film "Unconscious," directed by Joaquín Oristrell. This debut film score earned him nominations for the Goya Awards and Gaudí Awards. Since then, he has created over fifty soundtracks for cinema, television, national and international series, and documentaries. His film credits include "The Body" (Oriol Paulo), "Kidnapped" and "Extinction" (Miguel Angel Vivas), "A Good Man" and "Game of Werewolves" (Juan Martínez Moreno), "Everything Is Silence" (José Luís Cuerda), "Feedback" (Pedro Alonso), "Dirty Wolves" (Simón Casal), "Returns" (Luís Avilés), and "Thesis on a Homicide" (Hernán Goldfrid).
On television and streaming platforms, his music has featured in numerous productions, including "The Hidden Battle" by Paula Cons, "Futures Market" by Mercedes Álvarez, "Codec 60" by Carlos Martín Ferrera, and series like "Abuela de Verano" and "Six Sisters," produced by TVE. His recent projects include the documentary series "Where is Marta?" directed by Paula Cons and produced by Netflix and Cuarzo TV; "Operación Marea Negra, La travesía Suicida," directed by Luís Avilés and produced by Ficción Producciones and Amazon Prime Video; the fiction series "Hospital Valle Norte" for TVE; and the animated feature film "Turn, The Wacky Hen," produced by Tandem Films and Filmax.
His compositions have been performed by prestigious ensembles such as the City of Prague Symphony Orchestra, Macedonia Symphony Orchestra, Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra SIF 309, Galicia Symphony Orchestra, Córdoba Symphony Orchestra, Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra, RTVE Symphony Orchestra, Real Philharmonic Orchestra of Galicia, Gaos Orchestra, Euskadi Symphony Orchestra, Galician Film Symphony, and Mad4Strings Orchestra. Alongside his composing career, he has been actively involved in teaching and outreach, directing courses and seminars and delivering masterclasses at institutions including the Complutense University of Madrid, Loyola University of Seville, University of La Coruña, University of Murcia, Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), Earth Observatory of Singapore, Paideia Foundation, Madrid Municipal Conservatory, and Presto Vivace Private Conservatory of La Coruña.
