Bugra Gulsoy is a Turkish actor, director, and screenwriter born on February 22, 1982, in Ankara, where he spent his childhood and attended primary and middle school. In 2000, he moved to Cyprus to study architecture at Eastern Mediterranean University. Although his first stage experience occurred at age 13, Gulsoy's acting career officially began with his role in Eugene Ionesco's play 'Exit the King' at the 'Open Theatre' in Cyprus. After graduating as an architect, he remained in Cyprus due to his responsibilities at the 'Cyprus National Theatre'. During this time, he pursued his interests in writing and directing, creating two experimental films: 'Insan: Uçleme (Human: Trilogy)', made from still photographs featuring Gulsoy himself, and 'Tepetaklak (Upside Down)'. Both films received multiple awards at national and international film festivals. In 2007, after studying Movie Production through the United Nations Development Project (UNDP), Gulsoy's first fictional film, 'Mutlu Son (Happy End)', which he directed and starred in, won second place in a UNDP competition. He is also a co-founder of the 'Cyprus Film Association' and serves as Project Designer for the 'Cyprus International Short Film Festival'. In 2008, Gulsoy relocated to Istanbul to film his first TV show, 'Hepimiz Birimiz İçin', which aired on Kanal D. Following its success, he appeared in numerous popular TV series such as 'Unutulmaz', 'Fatmagül'ün Suçu Ne?', 'Kuzey Güney', 'Eski Hikaye', 'Bana Artık Hicran De', and 'Aşk Yeniden'. His roles in internationally acclaimed series 'Fatmagül'ün Suçu Ne?' and 'Kuzey Güney' earned him widespread recognition, particularly in Turkey and the Middle East. Alongside television, Gulsoy ventured into cinema, playing the character 'Berat' in Mahsun Kırmızıgül's film 'Güneşi Gördüm'. His film roles have been diverse and significant. In 2011, collaborating with director Derviş Zaim on 'Gölgeler ve Suretler', he gained further acclaim, especially for his portrayal of 'Cumali' in the award-winning film 'Güzel Günler Göreceğiz', directed by Hasan Tolga Pulat and honored at the Altın Portakal Film Festival. In 2015, Gulsoy starred as the lead in the romantic comedy TV series 'Aşk Yeniden', attracting broad audience attention. He reaffirmed his comedic talent by co-leading with Gupse Özay in the successful comedy film 'Görümce'. While advancing his acting career, Gulsoy partnered with Serhat Teoman and Emre Erkan to establish 'GET', a film and theatre production company. His play 'Pragma', which he wrote and directed and explores crime, criminal psychology, and serial killers, received critical acclaim and was sold out during the 2012-2013 season. In 2016, Gulsoy and Serhat Teoman co-directed the 'GET' production 'Mahalle', in which Gulsoy also starred as 'Sabri'. The film premiered at the 36th International Istanbul Film Festival.
