Biografia
After studying Audiovisual Production at EMAV (Barcelona), Tess Masero Brioso pursued 16mm Cinematography at BCFE in Dublin (Ireland) and earned a degree in Audiovisual Studies at DKIT, Dundalk (Ireland). Specializing in Cinematography and Directing, she completed her first independent feature film as a director of photography at the age of 24. Her projects have taken her to diverse locations such as Turkey, Ireland, Mexico, Cuba, and Honduras, and she has worked on major international productions such as Lily Sometimes (Fabienne Berthaud, 2010), starring Diane Kruger and Ludovine Sagnier, and Cold (Eoin Macken, 2013), starring Tom Hopper, the latter as part of the camera team.
Tess has created several short films as a director, director of photography, and screenwriter. Among them, Hermanas entre Eclipses won the Rodando en Navarra award with Isabel Coixet at NIFF 2021 and the National Archive award at the Ullnu Festival in Andorra, 2022. Crisis was purchased by TVE. Catenaria won second prize at the XI Subtravelling International Short Film Festival in Barcelona (2022). Rosa received a special mention at the X Subtravelling International Short Film Festival in Barcelona (2019).
Recently, Cuando crece la hierba (María Monreal), a short film for which she was the director of photography, won the Notodofilmfest 2022. With this same short, Tess was awarded Best Cinematography at the L'Alfàs del Pi Film Festival 2023. In 2024, she was a finalist in the RNE Short Film Competition with the short Más que palabras, and received a special mention at the XVI Subtravelling Competition for the same short.
Additionally, her feature film script Quien bien te quiere was a finalist in the Calella Film Festival Script Contest (2020) and received a special mention at the Madrid Online Pitchbox by Filmarket Hub 2022. Tess was also selected for Acció Curts 2023. Currently, she is in post-production on a documentary feature titled Dos madres, dos padres and developing several fiction projects, including both short and feature films.
