Jongman Kim starred as the lead in the short film "Silent Voices," which recently triumphed at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, winning the Second Prize in the La Cinef section as well as the prestigious Queer Palm Award. He is an actor and producer based in Los Angeles and Seoul.
He has appeared in numerous commercial and independent Korean films, including the Netflix movie "Yaksha: Ruthless Operations" (2022), "Idol" (2019), which premiered at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival, and "Eye for an Eye, Tooth for a Tooth" (2008). He also appears in a pivotal role in the Disney+ original series "Hyper Knife" (2025) alongside Park Eun-bin and Sol Kyung-gu, which is currently streaming globally on Disney+ and on Hulu in the U.S.
A major highlight of his film career is his starring role in the independent feature "Clytaemnestra" (2021). The film premiered at BAMcinemaFest in Brooklyn and is currently streaming on MUBI. It received significant critical acclaim, including a review in The New York Times, and was notably named one of The New Yorker's "Best Movies of 2022" by their esteemed head film critic, Richard Brody. Building on this success, Kim starred in the lead role of the short film "SARAJIN", which premiered at the Tribeca Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). His performance earned him Best Actor awards at both the Wyoming International Film Festival and the Catalina Film Festival, and the film launched a formal "For Your Consideration" Oscar campaign.
In addition, he is expanding his presence in the premium television and series market, with recent credits and work tied to the highly anticipated BEEF Season 2 on Netflix and the newest season of Euphoria on HBO Max, both of which premiered in 2026.
Kim also played the lead role in the music video film "Undertow" for Son Lux. The project won the prestigious Golden Frog for Best Music Video at the 2023 EnergaCAMERIMAGE International Cinematography Film Festival. The experimental trio behind the music, Son Lux, were also Oscar nominees for their work on the 2023 Best Picture winner, Everything Everywhere All at Once.
His television credits include recurring guest roles on the Netflix series "Love" (created by Judd Apatow), ABC's "Speechless", and FX's "You’re the Worst". On the commercial front, he appeared as Elvis in Apple’s worldwide iPhone commercial, which has reached over 100 million views on YouTube. He also starred in MGM International’s Bellagio Hotel & Casino national campaign (2021-2023), which won a 2022 Cannes Silver Lion Award. In 2023, he starred in the GM-Netflix Super Bowl commercial alongside Will Ferrell, a global event watched by over a billion people worldwide.
Kim currently stars in and produced the TV show "Western Avenue" (produced by DeJong Film), a story of Korean immigrant filmmakers in Los Angeles, which is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. His upcoming projects include the TV series "Blind Stitch" and the feature films "Taco King: Legend of DdongKwang" and "Lies Without a Face." Expanding his craft into filmmaking, he is now directing and producing the feature film "Beyond the Horizon" and producing and starring in the upcoming feature "Eyes Without a Face."
