Omkar Potdar is an award-winning Indian director and creative lead known for crafting character-driven documentaries and high-stakes unscripted series. With nearly two decades of experience in the Indian media industry, Potdar has built a reputation for blending emotional storytelling with real-world narratives across sports, adventure, lifestyle, and extreme reality. His directorial work spans major global platforms including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, and Sony LIV. Potdar served as Creative Director and Director on Warrior Hunt, India’s first series on Mixed Martial Arts, which won Best Sports Docu-Series at the Kenyan International Sports Film Festival (KISFF) 2023. Potdar's portfolio highlights a unique ability to navigate diverse environments. He directed the Amazon Prime series The Tribe, offering an inside look at global influencer culture in Los Angeles, and served as the Reality Director for multiple successful seasons of Fear Factor India, filmed across various international locations. Additionally, he directed a high-altitude mountain documentary series where he set a Guinness World Record for the highest fashion show on earth, filmed on the fastest-melting glacier in the Himalayas near Everest. His credits also include Sons of Soil (Amazon Prime Video), the first Indian sports docu-series following Abhishek Bachchan’s Pro Kabaddi team. Potdar also co-produced and co-directed Indian Baseball Dreams and Hotshots, two documentary series for Disney+ Hotstar and Star Sports that chronicled the rise of baseball in India through intimate, human stories. Most recently, he expanded his footprint in premium global formats by directing two successful seasons of the internationally acclaimed Million Dollar Listing. Having collaborated extensively with international crews, Potdar has filmed in the United States, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Spain, Argentina, Mexico, Tanzania, Bhutan, and Nepal, bringing a global lens to deeply rooted human stories.
