Barbara Bingham is an American-Australian actor, writer, and producer based in Sydney. She launched her television career on the set of the original Hawaii Five-O, where she discovered her passion for performance. Soon after, she left her island home for Los Angeles, immersing herself in training and building a career across television, film, stage, and commercials over the next two decades. In 1996, Barbara relocated to Australia, where she has continued to work extensively on screen while expanding into writing and producing. Her screen credits include Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, Soldier’s Fortune, Cop Target, Beyond Darkness, Deadhouse Dark, and Romance on the Menu. In 2019, Barbara co-wrote and starred in the award-winning short film Over the Edge with director and co-writer Enzo Tedeschi. The Hitchcockian thriller toured the international festival circuit and won the Audience Award for Dramatic/Horror Short at the Coronado Island Film Festival. In 2023, the pair developed a feature-length version of Over the Edge, receiving Development Funding from Screen Australia, and went on to co-write their first psychological thriller feature film together. Barbara also served as Executive Producer on the 2024 sci-fi feature Resonance, in which she stars in dual roles, and most recently co-wrote, produced, and starred in the 2025 short film Madman. Alongside her screen work, Barbara is a partner and co-founder of Corporate Actors Australia and has worked in corporate professional development since 2000. Known for her resilience, optimism, and commitment to evolving storytelling, she continues to create bold, character-driven work that champions complex roles for women at every stage of life.
