Biografia
Stephanie Gerard, a vegan actress, singer, TV host, and comedienne, was born in Mexico City. Her mother hails from Monterrey, Mexico, and her father is from Cannes, France. When Stephanie was six months old, her parents relocated to the small town of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. At the age of five, she began singing and learning to play the piano and guitar. After living in Canada for seven years, she returned to Mexico, where she stayed for another six years before moving multiple times. Later, her parents enrolled her in a regular school, where she took classes in acting, ballet, and hip hop.
Stephanie is fluent in five languages: Spanish, English, French, German, and Italian. She has lived in France, Germany, Switzerland, and, since 2012, Los Angeles, California. Her passion for music began in infancy listening to The Beatles, and as a child, she sang in the church choir. Performing on large stages became her primary focus. Stephanie pursued musical training in every country she lived in by attending music schools and taking private lessons. Her vocal instructors include Enrique Del Olmo, Alfredo Algarín, Erick Guecha, and renowned vocal coach Roger Love in Los Angeles. For piano, guitar, and upright bass, she studied at the Fermatta School in Mexico City, training with Jorge Guerra, Sadoc García, and Gary Nestruk.
Her professional theater training includes working with Virginia Fabregas, spending a year at Cours Florent in France, and three years studying Dramatic Arts at the Educational Center of Arts (CEA-Televisa) in Mexico City. Additionally, she trained in trapeze, aerial silks, and contortion. While living in Mexico, Stephanie reached the limits of what her talents could achieve there. By then, she had toured extensively across Mexico and Latin America and recorded nine albums, including a Beatles tribute that earned congratulations from Sir Paul McCartney. She has also released several songs on Spotify, co-written with award-winning songwriter Luciano Luna, incorporating mariachi elements.
Her television appearances include La Madrastra and Derbez en Cuando, where she starred alongside Eugenio Derbez. Film credits include Sinvergüenzas; Pecado Mortal, directed by Alvaro Curiel (Mujeres Asesinas), where she played the lead opposite singer Julio Reyes; Assassin X (Sony Pictures); In Da Cut (NBC Universal); and Plan V (Videocine/No Dancing Today), which premiered in over 1,200 theaters across Mexico on August 17, 2018. She also performed in theater for a season from August 24 to October 14, 2018, in the play "Desafecto," a Nirvana Theater production for Hollywood in Spanish.
Stephanie has hosted several TV shows, including Tengo Talento Mucho Talento, El Mameluco, Buenos Días Familia on Estrella Media for national television, and the entertainment show En Vivo, airing live weekdays at 12:30 p.m. A dedicated environmentalist and animal rights advocate, she supports organizations such as the ASPCA, the Humane Society, World Animal Protection, PETA, NARD, California Community Foundation, World Wildlife Fund, the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council), and Greenpeace. In her free time, she enjoys practicing yoga, trapeze, cooking and baking vegan dishes, and spending time with her dogs.
