Maria Katre is a Los Angeles-based actor, writer, producer, voice artist, and musician whose work is defined by emotional depth, artistic versatility, and powerful storytelling. A graduate of the prestigious British American Drama Academy, she has built a multifaceted career spanning film, television, music, voiceover, and original content creation.
Originally from Ypsilanti, Michigan, Maria Katre’s creative journey began through music at an early age. A gifted child musician with a natural ear for performance and composition, she began playing the trumpet at just 10 years old and later studied piano, developing a strong musical foundation that would shape her artistry across multiple disciplines. Her passion and talent for music opened doors to extraordinary performance opportunities, including collaborations and live performances connected to global artists such as Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.
Her passion for storytelling eventually expanded into filmmaking and performance. While attending Florida A&M University, Maria-Katre wrote and produced her first award-winning documentary, In Their Eyes (2008), at the age of 22. The film explored the lives of visually impaired individuals through an honest and compassionate lens, challenging societal stigmas and celebrating the fullness of the human experience. The documentary earned a First Place Associated Press Award and remains on display at the university’s School of Journalism and Graphic Communication.
