Biografia
Sara Downing was born in Washington D.C. and moved frequently, living in Los Angeles, Virginia, San Francisco, and Boise, Idaho. She began acting at age 7 in Shakespeare festivals and local theater. In 11th grade, after meeting a model scout, she attended IMTA and won Model of the Year. Soon after, she moved to New York with Ford Modeling Agency. There, she landed her first acting role in a Kellogg's Frosted Flakes commercial before modeling internationally. In 1999, on her way to Japan, she stopped in LA to audition for the film Never Been Kissed. After arriving in Japan, she received a callback to meet Drew Barrymore and flew back to LA, securing the role.
Following this, she relocated to LA to pursue her career on the West Coast. She guest-starred in Boy Meets World, Titus, and The Army Show, then began filming Wishcraft. During this time, she also secured a recurring role as the alien "Courtney" on Roswell, working on both projects simultaneously. While still on Roswell, she was cast in the WB series Dead Last, playing rocker Jane Cahill. After completing 13 episodes of Dead Last, she traveled to Bulgaria to film two movies consecutively, including Hard Cash, starring alongside Val Kilmer, Christian Slater, and Daryl Hannah. Upon returning, she took a break and traveled across the U.S. with friends. She then starred in the independent film Burning Annie, a college comedy where she played Julie, the titular "Annie." After filming, she guest-starred on Smallville as Jessie Brooks in the notable episode where Clark Kent turns evil. She then appeared in Toolbox Murders, directed by Tobe Hooper, portraying Saffron Kirby, a drug-addicted rocker neighbor. Most recently, she completed an untitled independent film shot in Tennessee, playing Kate Bender, a clever and alluring con artist set in 1948, acting opposite John Savage, Jeremy London, Max Kasch, and Billy Burke.
