Biografia
After studying film history at University Paris III, Pascal-Alex Vincent worked in Japanese film distribution in France. His first short film, "Final Exams" (2000), initiated his partnership with Local Films, which produced his next five shorts. Among these were "Baby Shark," nominated for the Palme d'Or at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival, and the animated short "Candy Boy," selected for Director's Fortnight at Cannes in 2007. In 2009, his debut feature, "Give Me Your Hand" ("Donne-Moi La Main"), starring identical twins Alexandre and Victor Carril, was released in 15 countries, including the United States, where Strand handled its theatrical release. The film received critical acclaim and was featured at New York's Museum of Modern Art during their annual New Directors/New Films event.
In 2010, Pascal directed "Miwa, a la recherche du lezard noir," the first authorized documentary about Miwa, a renowned Japanese impersonator from the 1960s.
That same year, he also directed the short film "En Colo," part of a collection of shorts addressing homophobia.
In May 2011, Pascal directed a music video for the California-based band Family of the Year. The video is for the song "The Princess and the Pea" from their album "Songbook" and is available on YouTube.
In July 2011, he directed a music video for "Darwin Smiles" by Kill the Young, from their album "Thicker Than Water."
In 2012, Pascal planned to direct his second feature, a horror/thriller titled "It's In The Trees" ("Dans La Foret"). The film was set to be produced by Balthazar Productions (Les Productions Balthazar) and Jerome Doppfer, with European actor Francois Goeske attached to star in the male lead role.
