Fernando Gaviria
Fernando Gaviria is a Venezuelan-born American actor, producer, director, and writer whose career spans film, television, and streaming productions across the United States and Latin America. Fluent in both English and Spanish, he is recognized for his versatility, commanding screen presence, and ability to portray powerful, charismatic, and emotionally layered characters.
Born in San Cristóbal, Venezuela, and raised in Maracaibo, Gaviria began his professional career as a competitive bodybuilder, winning multiple bodybuilding championships before opening his own fitness center in 1990. The discipline, resilience, and determination he developed during those years became the foundation of his artistic career.
Driven by a lifelong passion for storytelling, Gaviria moved to Miami in 1995 to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. In 2002, he relocated to Los Angeles to dedicate himself fully to acting and continue developing his craft. During this period, he also discovered a passion for screenwriting, advancing one of his original screenplays through the Sundance Writers Lab selection process.
His first major motion picture appearance came in Bad Boys II, directed by Michael Bay and starring Will Smith, introducing him to the world of major studio productions. Throughout his career, Gaviria has appeared in productions for Netflix, Telemundo, HBO, TV Azteca, and other major studios. His credits include El Señor de los Cielos, Ingobernable, El Dragón, La Viuda Negra, Run Coyote Run, Bronco, Amar a Muerte, La Piñatería, Rumis, and numerous feature films and television productions.
Known for portraying military officers, executives, politicians, detectives, businessmen, and psychologically complex characters, Gaviria brings authenticity, intensity, and emotional depth to every performance. One of the most personally challenging roles of his career was Baudelio in El Silbón, a performance that demanded significant emotional and psychological commitment.
In addition to acting, Gaviria is also a producer, director, and writer developing original projects for the international market. Outside the entertainment industry, he is the founder and CEO of FGAFITNESS, an international health and wellness company. His long-term ambition is to establish himself as one of the leading bilingual actors working between Hollywood and Latin America while creating stories that resonate with audiences around the world.
