Angela Ardis is a writer whose work spans television, film, animation, live productions, and literary publishing, including ghostwriting. Her portfolio includes children’s books, poetry, fiction, and memoirs.
She gained international recognition for her memoir Inside a Thug’s Heart, a compilation of letters, poetry, and conversations with the late Tupac Shakur. Originally published in hardcover in 2004, the book was re-released in paperback in 2009 and digitally in 2013. In 2024, the memoir was reissued in a special hardcover edition in celebration of its 20th anniversary. The award-nominated work was also translated into Polish. She is adapting Inside a Thug’s Heart into an animated film.
Angela has experience in broadcasting, having co-hosted the internet radio show Talk with Angela and Hank and later Lipstick, High Heels and B.S. on Lipstick Radio.
Her on-screen experience includes appearances in films such as Black and Blue and All I Want, as well as television credits including The Wayans Bros. She has also worked as a model, appearing in fashion shows for designers including Reggio, Banu Paris, Farinae, Bonnie Strauss, and Don Sayres, and in publications such as Jet, Today’s Black Woman, Today’s Black Man, Aloette, Profiles Magazine, Black Market, Silk2, Mallory Furs, and Playboy.
She has released multiple book projects, including The Block series (The Block and The Block: Truth Revealed) and D’Lai: The Journey Behind the Smile (2020). In addition to her own work, she has edited, rewritten, and developed scripts and autobiographies for clients.
In 2015, Angela joined a production company as Director of Content and Scriptwriter, where she contributed to scripted television and film projects. She received co-screenwriting credits on the BET films Hollywood Hearts and Keys to the City.
With over 20 years of writing experience, Angela has written or co-written more than 90 scripts, developed 19 original series, and created multiple animation and live production projects. She is adapting her The Block trilogy for television.
Angela is the Founder and CEO of Behind 4 Walls Entertainment LLC and co-founder of 3III3 Productions LLC, both established in 2021.
