Daniel Benton began his career in front of the camera, appearing as a guest on several popular TV shows, including Police Woman with Angie Dickinson, a series he later contributed to as a writer. He chose to focus more on writing than acting, launching his writing career on that same show. He went on to write for series such as Paper Chase, Dynasty, Jake and The Fatman, and Adventures In Wonderland, earning an Emmy nomination for the latter.
In film, Benton has written numerous independent features, including Hostage Syndrome, Nudity Required, Knockouts, and L.A. Goddess. More recently, he penned the horror thrillers Near Death and Jack Hammer, as well as the military action thriller Special Ops: Delta Force.
Benton's producing career in television feature development includes projects like Dragonlady for Lorimar and Cold Warriors for Gruenbergfilm in Berlin. His film production credits began as an associate producer on L.A. Goddess, followed by roles as executive producer, writer, and producer on Near Death. He also executive produced and co-wrote The Revolting Dead with director Michael Su.
He continues to develop noir and action thrillers, including Those Who Prey, along with upcoming military action films. Benton co-wrote Exorcism at 60,000 Feet, starring Lance Henriksen, Bai Ling, and Matthew Moy.
