Aza Declercq is a Belgian actress with over 26 years of professional experience. She studied drama at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven, pursued Classical and Modern Dance at the School of Performing Arts/Conservatoire in Antwerp, and took classes at Cours Florent in Paris, as well as with Troubleyn by Viviane de Mynck and Emio Greco.
In 2017, she was nominated for Best Actress at the Maverick Movie Awards and in 2018 at the Universal Film Festival in the US.
Throughout her career, Aza has played a diverse range of roles, including a minor role as a prostitute alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in "Total Eclipse," the Mother in the Academy Award-nominated short "Fait d'Hivers," and Janice in the French production "The Things They Left Behind," which won First Prize at the Festival Européen du Film Fantastique de Strasbourg.
She was also a principal voice for over seven years on ACHT (television) and for more than five years on Canvas. Aza is frequently sought after for voice-over work in commercials, audio guides, e-learning materials, animated films, and more.
In recent years, Aza Declercq has expanded into writing and directing. In 2016, she wrote and directed her first short film, "La Muerte de Cupido." She completed her second short film, "Sisters," in 2017, and her third, "Heritage," in 2019. She is currently developing the script for her first feature film, "A Thing to Feed."
Most recently, she worked as an assistant director and dialogue talent coach with director Gianluca Maria Tavarelli on a new Italian TV series.
