Ron was raised in both Brazil and Canada, completing high school in each country. After earning his BA in Architecture and Urban Design in Brazil, he moved to Canada to contribute to the Vancouver SkyTrain project. A few years later, while working at Soren Rasmussen Architects, a colleague inspired him to enroll in the 3D animation program at Vancouver Film School.
In 1995, Ron joined Vetor Zero's CG team and shortly thereafter moved to JB Tanko Filmes, where he gained experience with Discreet Logic's Flame and Quantel's Hal Express. By 1998, Ron became part of Discreet Logic's Latin American team. For three years, he was responsible for training and supporting all Discreet Fire and Smoke post-production suites across Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Panama, and Peru.
After departing Autodesk, Ron worked as a digital compositor using Smoke, Flame, and Inferno at Momento Filmes, TV Globo, and Digital 21.
In 2007, Ron joined TV Record's newly established visual effects team to tackle the ambitious challenge of producing the VFX-heavy daily show "Caminhos do Coração." Inspired by series like "Heroes" and "X-Men," the show became a landmark for Brazilian open TV. The visual effects team managed an extensive cast of characters with superpowers. The series was a success, running for three seasons and over 500 episodes.
In 2009, Ron took on another challenge when Recnov Studios began producing a series of biblical mini-series. Since then, he has supervised VFX production for four mini-series: "História de Ester," "Sansão e Dalila," "Rei Davi," and most recently, "José do Egito."
These biblical productions required shooting in numerous exotic locations across Brazil, Canada, Chile, Israel, and Egypt. Ron spent considerable time overseeing visual effects, time-lapse photography, and data acquisition in many of the world's deserts.
In 2015, after working on "Os Dez Mandamentos" (The Ten Commandments) for Recnov Studios, Ron relocated to Toronto to serve as Senior VFX Supervisor at Stargate Studios.
