Alberto Rocco, known in the industry as "Il Maestro," is an Italian director, director of photography and specialist in Filmmaking AI, based in Portugal. He began his career in cinematography, quickly distinguishing himself through emotionally resonant visual storytelling and a strong command of classical film language. As a director, Rocco merges tradition and innovation, shaping films noted for their visual precision and narrative clarity. Beyond his film and television work, Rocco has contributed to education through the Portuguese Communications Foundation and developed a significant portfolio in commercial and corporate media. His leadership at Sonomage in Lisbon expanded his ability to adapt cinematic language to diverse contexts, balancing artistic vision with strategic communication. In the emerging field of AI-driven filmmaking, Rocco is a prominent advocate and practitioner. He pioneers hybrid workflows that combine cinematography, animation and generative systems, and is an active voice in international talks promoting the coexistence of three cinematic forms, conventional, animation and AI, as the foundation for the industry’s future. He delivers lectures in English, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian, allowing his perspectives to reach a wide global audience. He is also the head of the experimental RoccoPrompt App project, which focuses on developing structured prompt methodologies for cinematic AI tools.
