Kathryn Stockwood is a story editor, writer, producer, director, and actor.
Born in Toronto, Canada, to a Latvian mother and an English-Canadian father, she began her formal theatre training while studying English at McGill University. She later earned her Master of Fine Arts from UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Television.
On stage, Kathryn has collaborated with renowned Broadway director Michael Langham, who led the Stratford Festival of Canada, Minneapolis' Guthrie Theatre, the Juilliard School of Theatre, and the Dallas Theatre Centre. She earned acclaim for her role as "Ofelia" in the award-winning production of "Hamlet: The First Quarto" at Theatre of Note in Los Angeles, and is featured in Arden Shakespeare's definitive edition of the play: "Hamlet: The Texts of 1603 and 1623" (2007).
Her most notable film role is "Patty" in Touchstone Pictures' "Sorority Boys."
Shortly after relocating to Toronto, Kathryn wrote and directed a short film that led to her appearing on the cover of one of Canada's most widely read magazines. This exposure resulted in her first television directing opportunity, offered by a producer impressed by her work.
Today, Kathryn primarily works as a Story Editor and Writer, contributing to numerous television series including "Yummy Mummy," "Party Mamas," "Re-vamped," "Million Dollar Critic," "Buy Herself," "Come Dine With Me Canada," "Recipe to Riches," "Buy It, Fix It, Sell It," and "Animals at Work.
