Leigh Sheehan has over 25 years of experience in film production. He began his career at Clemenger BBDO, Australia's largest advertising agency. In 1985, he transitioned to freelance directing and producing. Leigh directed television dramas, including the series Flotsam & Jetsam for Motion Picture Management in Brisbane, as well as TV movies such as "For Better, For Worse" and the acclaimed "The Carer," written by Alan Hopgood and starring Charles Bud Tingwell.
In 1998, Leigh developed his first feature film project, Dalkeith, starring Ray Barrett. The film attracted international audiences and was shortlisted for the prestigious Directors' Fortnight at Cannes. Dalkeith was internationally sold by Highpoint Films, screened in Australian cinemas for three years, and is celebrated as a gem of Australian cinema. It was also broadcast on the Nine Network and Foxtel's Showtime.
Leigh's next feature, "Under A Red Moon," produced in 2008, featured strong performances from Richard Norton (Road House 2), Jane Badler (V the series), and Ditch Davey (Spartacus). This film was sold internationally by Melismedias Asia Pacific.
In 2013, Rialto Entertainment released the thriller 6 Plots theatrically. The film featured a dynamic cast of emerging actors including Ryan Corr (Wolf Creek 2), Eliza Taylor (The 100), Penelope Mitchell (Hemlock Grove), Alice Darling, and Andrew Clark. After being sold at Cannes, the film secured international distribution in Japan, the USA, the UK, Germany, and throughout Europe. Leigh is currently collaborating with his producing partner Julie McBeth on "In The Wake," a major feature film based on a true story, produced alongside Robert Raymond (Schindler's List) and Antony Ginnane, one of Australia's foremost film producers.
