Milt Kamen was born on March 5, 1921, in Hurleyville, New York, USA. He was an actor known for roles in Cade's County (1971), Mannix (1967), and Mother, Jugs & Speed (1976). A symphony French horn player, he was known for making the brass section laugh. He wrote for Sid Caesar's Your Show of Shows (1950) alongside Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner, and served as Sid Caesar's stand-in when Caesar wanted to observe a sketch's progress. Mel Brooks once told him, "Milt, don't be too funny." He also spent time with Groucho Marx.
Most of his career took place in New York City and its surrounding areas. He was well-known among taxi drivers, who could often be heard shouting "Hey Milt" as they passed by. Later, he relocated to Los Angeles, working there and in Las Vegas.
He married Margot Bankoff on April 8, 1969, in New York City and remained married to her until his death on February 24, 1977, in Beverly Hills, California, USA. His comedy album, Here's Milt Kamen (Capitol Records), was produced by Mel Brooks, with the liner notes on the back cover written by Groucho Marx.
