Paul Bello, native New Orleanian and well-known local and regional theatrical performer, has appeared in many stage productions over the years. Among his many credits, he has appeared most recently as the Steward in Agatha Christie's Murder on the Nile, Lord Savage in Jekyll and Hyde, a priest in Jesus Christ Superstar, all at Jefferson Performing Arts. Well known to JPA patrons, over the years he's appeared as Kevin with In the Heights, in Shrek the Musical, as a Three Little Pig, and in Arsenic and Old Lace as Officer Klein, in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest as Chief Bromden, in Caroline, or Change as Mr. Stopnick, as Snipes in Tarzan the Musical. and has appeared in JPAS productions of Funny Girl, Mary Poppins, Sister Act, the opera Rigoletto, Light in the Piazza, My Fair Lady, in the roles of Gonzorgo in Babes in Toyland, Dick Deadeye in H.M.S. Pinafore, Pilate in an earlier Jesus Christ Superstar, Pawnee Bill in Annie Get Your Gun, The Duke/Dr. Carrasco in Man of La Mancha, Yussel in Fiddler on the Roof, and as Reg Willoughby in The Full Monty.
At Rivertown Repertory Theater he's appeared as Peron in Evita and Miles Glorious in ...Forum, and has appeared in many other acclaimed productions at Tulane Summer Lyric Theater and Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carré.
In film he appeared in the lead role as Chef Amethyst in the award-winning short, A Night at Amethyst's, and you can look for him in the upcoming fantasy noir thriller, Savage, starring Bridget Regan, streaming soon!
