Brandon Slagle, born April 26, 1977, in Austin, Texas, is an American filmmaker and former actor known for his work in action, thriller, and science fiction films. He began his creative career as the lead singer of the industrial metal band Die Section, guided by the late Wayne Static of Static-X.
In the early 2000s, Slagle transitioned to acting, appearing in independent films and television shows, including uncredited parts in "Argo," "Grey's Anatomy," and "Dexter." He later shifted focus to directing and screenwriting, gaining attention with his 2012 film "The Black Dahlia Haunting," which achieved notable rental success on Redbox alongside hits like "The Purge" and "The Conjuring."
His directing credits include "House of Manson" (2014), a biopic about Charles Manson; "Crossbreed" (2019), featuring Vivica A. Fox as the first African-American woman to play the U.S. President in a feature film; and "Battle for Saipan" (2022), starring Casper Van Dien and Louis Mandylor.
In 2023, Slagle directed "The Flood," starring Nicky Whelan and Casper Van Dien, as well as "Affinity," which marked action star Marko Zaror's first lead role in an English-language film. His movie "Breakout," starring Louis Mandylor and Brian Krause, became the most-watched action film on Tubi.
Besides directing, Slagle has written screenplays for films such as "3 Days in Malay" and "Operation Blood Hunt," both directed by Louis Mandylor, and co-wrote "Last Chance Motel" with Scout Taylor-Compton and Danielle Harris.
He was formerly married to actress and producer Devanny Pinn.
With a diverse body of work and inventive storytelling, Slagle continues to establish himself as a prominent figure in modern cinema.
