Chuck grew up in South Florida, making short 8mm films as a teenager. His intense passion for shooting, editing, and sharing his work earned him his first role as a station manager producing local public access TV content in Pennsylvania. Soon, the allure of Hollywood drew him West, where he began editing and directing high-end network television commercials at Videography Studios in Los Angeles.
Chuck's experimental spirit perfectly equipped him for the shift from film to video as the future of moviemaking. His early engagement with video gave him a distinctive perspective on film. Combining his technical and creative talents, Chuck created the visual effects for Shelly Duvall's Faerie Tale Theater, achieving visual success despite it being shot on video rather than film. This was the first dramatic production of its kind.
He went on to direct and edit thousands of television commercials, including the wildly funny Federated Group spots featuring Shadoe Stevens as Fred Rated. Simultaneously, he began composing musical scores for films, starting with Chopping Mall. Chuck divided his career between directing network Saturday morning children's shows like The Mr. Potato Head Show and The Amazing Live Sea Monkeys, while also scoring dozens of feature films.
Chuck created and executive produced Weird TV, a nationally syndicated series that broke new ground by pioneering reality television. The edgy, underground show defied traditional TV norms in style, editing, content, and shocking visuals, capitalizing on the emerging technology of small video handheld cameras.
Weird TV later became MSN's first and only online TV series. Before YouTube and streaming platforms, Chuck’s original comedy and reality shorts were viewed worldwide on the web. This success led him to assist HBO in launching their online comedy platform, Runaway Box, and Break.com's Break Originals, where he produced, edited, directed, and musically enhanced much of the content.
In an unexpected career turn, Chuck worked as the Web Content Producer for ITV's America Now, starring Leeza Gibbons. During its three-year run, he produced behind-the-scenes videos with Leeza and topical news segments for the show.
With over 40 years in the entertainment industry, Chuck continues to expand his work by producing and shooting feature films, while also creating their visual effects. To date, he has composed music for more than 70 feature films.
