Keisuke Hoashi is an American actor based in New York City with a career spanning over 30 years in Hollywood. He has accumulated hundreds of credits across various mediums, including film, television, animation, commercials, theatre, and hosting. Previously a computer professional, Keisuke earned a Master’s Degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and worked for IBM, AT&T, and NCR. As a music educator, he co-founded the New York Summer Music Festival, where he hosted over 400 live concerts and produced more than 120 original films and musicals. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
Extended biography: Pronounced CASE-kay, Keisuke boasts over 200 on-camera credits in film, TV, and national commercials, with appearances in shows such as Bob’s Burgers (2011), Mad Men (2007), and How I Met Your Mother (2005). His distinctive voice features in video games like Cyberpunk 2077 (2020) and Ghost of Tsushima (2020), prime-time animations including Bob’s Burgers (2011) and Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai (2022), English dubs, and the New York Times bestselling audiobook How High We Go in the Dark.
Beginning with his role as Captain Hook in a fifth-grade production of Peter Pan, Keisuke has broken stereotypes by performing non-Asian roles in New York stage productions such as My Fair Lady, Anything Goes, The Last of Mrs. Lincoln, and 1776. In Los Angeles, he has performed with the Geffen Playhouse, Venture West Theatre Company, Classical Theatre Lab, Gily Productions, and Fire Rose Productions, among others.
A retired writer and musician, Keisuke wrote, produced, and starred in the world’s first Martial Arts Musical Comedy, Memoirs of a Ninja. This satirical piece earned five Maddy Awards, five Garland Awards, and was recognized as a “Best Theatre 2000” selection by NiteLife After Dark magazine.
As an educator, Keisuke co-founded the New York Summer Music Festival (NYSMF), an international music camp in Oneonta, NY. For nearly ten years, he taught daily classes in filmmaking, acting, and musical theatre to thousands of students, producing 100 short films and 24 original musicals. He also contributed to camps such as MIPAC (Michigan Performing Arts Camp), EMCOP (Encore Music Camp of PA), NYSMC (New York State Music Camp), and HCSMFI (Hartwick College Summer Music Festival and Institute).
Keisuke holds a Master’s degree in Technical Communication from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the State University of New York at Potsdam. A native of Queens, New York, he is a graduate of Stuyvesant High School.
