Jake Cunningham is a writer and producer working in film, TV, audio, digital and print media. He is Head of Creative Development at Industria Studios. He has developed and written documentaries about film and TV that have aired on Sky Atlantic, Channel 4, the BBC and Prime Video and he has produced podcasts with Universal, Lionsgate, Sky, Curzon and the British Independent Film Awards.
He has written about film for Empire, The I, NME and many others and he is the co-writer of the Ghibliotheque book series, which have explored animated and East Asian cinema across six different books (and counting). Ghibliotheque is also the name of an independent podcast co-hosted and produced by Jake, along with creative partner Michael Leader, which explores animated filmmaking from across the globe (which began with a focus on Studio Ghibli).
Jake's first short film as writer and producer, Blue Bottle, made with the BFI, premiered at the London Film Festival; and a non-fiction short, Neil Armstrong and the Langholmites, directed by Duncan Cowles and created and produced by Jake at Industria Studios, will debut in 2025.
