Jeff, an award-winning filmmaker from Toronto, Canada, graduated from Queen's University and received professional film training at New York University's Tisch Film School. He possesses an international background in media business development.
Filmmaking fascinated him from childhood. At eight, his father brought home a JVC Video MovieMaker, one of the earliest recreational home video cameras. Using it, Jeff created numerous stop-motion shorts and small documentaries. However, it wasn't until 2001 during the dot-com era, when he was hired by an online broadcasting company, that he seriously considered a full-time filmmaking career. Initially hired for business development, his production skills were soon recognized, leading to involvement in a show. Within months, he was traveling internationally to direct multi-camera live concert shoots for major musical artists. After the dot-com ended in 2002, he worked in Toronto’s production industry as an assistant director on commercials and independent films until 2003, when he was accepted into a competitive summer directing program at Tisch in Manhattan.
Since 2001, Jeff has completed six well-received short films, the latest being the Bravo Film Dogasaur, which has screened internationally, earned awards, and is distributed by Ouat! Media. He has also directed various nationally broadcast commercials and internationally aired documentaries.
In April 2009, he directed his first feature film, An Insignificant Harvey, which he also wrote and co-produced. The story follows Harvey Lippe, a janitor at an unusual small-town ski resort who is a little person.
Through his company, Vitality Media Productions Inc., founded in 2004, Jeff develops numerous television, documentary, and feature film projects.
Having lived on three continents and traveled widely, he is also an accomplished stone sculptor and photographer.
