Eurydice Gysel began her production career at CZAR.BE in 2000. Founded by Koen Mortier, the company quickly established itself as one of the most innovative ad production firms on the global stage. In 2010, Eurydice became executive producer and manager, and since then, alongside director/producer Koen Mortier, has co-led the fiction division CZAR FILM & TV. She is also a member of the ACE Producers Network and the European Producers Club.
In 2006 and 2008, Eurydice produced Koen Mortier’s feature films "Ex Drummer" and "22nd of May," both of which had significant festival runs. She later produced Pieter Van Hees' feature "Waste Land" (world premiere at TIFF), the documentary "Standby Painter" by Amir Yatziv and Guy Slabbinck (Visions du Réel Nyon), Mortier’s feature "Angel" (TIFF), Kenneth Mercken’s debut feature "Coureur" (FFGhent, IFFR), and Lieven Van Baelen’s first feature "Rookie," starring Veerle Baetens.
Eurydice also co-produced Alex van Warmerdam’s films "Borgman" (Cannes competition), "Schneider vs. Bax" (Locarno), and "NR10," as well as Tamar van den Dop’s "Supernova" (Generation Berlinale 2014), and "L'étrange couleur des larmes de ton corps" by Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani (Locarno & TIFF).
She has collaborated extensively with the BBC on series such as "The White Queen" and three seasons of "The Missing," earning nominations for Golden Globes, People's Choice Awards, and BAFTA TV Awards. This includes the six-part costume drama "Les Misérables," featuring Dominic West, David Oyelowo, and Lily Collins.
In 2022, Koen Mortier’s 11-part documentary series "Voices of Liberation" was released on Netflix. In 2023, Mortier’s feature "Skunk," adapted from Geert Taghon’s novel, premiered at the Tallinn IFF in the youth competition, winning Best Film and achieving box office success in Belgium. Additionally, Jorn Plucieniczak’s short documentary "Terril" premiered at Doclisboa, winning best documentary. The experimental film "The Anchor" debuted at DocLisboa 2024, receiving both the International Competition Award and The New Talent Award.
Currently, "The Weeping Walk," the debut feature by renowned writer Dimitri Verhulst, is in cinemas. Projects in development include "Black Wolf," an animated feature by Raf Wathion. The co-production with Frank Hoeve from Baldr Film, "Garden of Earthly Delights" (Morgan Knibbe), is in postproduction, while "Joe Speedboot" by Sam de Jong is in production.
