Dominic Flores is a film and television actor from Dana Point, California. Raised in the beach cities of Southern California, his mother was a schoolteacher, and his father was a renowned Latin trumpet player from Bolivia. Dominic toured and performed a Latin hip hop fusion with his father until 1996, when he began professional acting training at the prestigious South Coast Repertory theater in Costa Mesa. After being cast in both their main and second stage productions, he moved to Los Angeles and landed his first film role on his initial audition in "Starmaps," the debut feature from Miguel Arteta. The film achieved significant success at the Sundance Film Festival and was acquired and theatrically released by Fox Searchlight in 1997.
Dominic returned to acting in 2007, gradually securing small roles on popular network TV shows such as House, Sons of Anarchy, My Name Is Earl, and New Girl, along with parts in films including Peep World, My Name Is Khan, and Rampart, starring Woody Harrelson and directed by Oren Moverman. In 2014, he earned his first starring role in a studio film as the corrupt politician Hugo Barco, opposite Sandra Bullock in "Our Brand Is Crisis." Produced by George Clooney's Smokehouse Productions and released by Warner Brothers in 2015, the film tells the true story of American political operatives hired to elect an unpopular candidate in Bolivia and the fallout from their actions. Directed by David Gordon Green, the cast also features Billy Bob Thornton, Zoe Kazan, and Anthony Mackie.
Dominic is married to producer Kristen Ridgway Flores, and they have three children together. In 2014, Dominic and Kristen produced the documentary "My Uncle Is the Green River Killer" for the A&E/LMN network. They are also founders of the Feel Good Film Festival, a three-day non-profit event in Hollywood that showcases films designed to uplift audiences. The festival debuted at the Egyptian Theatre in 2008 to great success and ran through 2012.
