Arameh Etemadi Filmmaker · Producer · Film Critic · Festival Jury Member Arameh Etemadi is an Iranian-American filmmaker, producer, and film critic whose career spans over seventeen years across cinema, television, and the international festival circuit. Her directorial work includes Memory of Mohammad Reza Lotfi (2014), a documentary celebrating the life and artistry of one of Iran's most distinguished classical musicians, renowned for his mastery of the Tar and Setar. The film received international recognition and was showcased on the BBC. As a filmmaker, Etemadi works across multiple genres, from documentary and narrative fiction to music video, bringing a critical eye and cultural depth to each project. On the production side, she has led live television programs, including the Atseh Program, which saw a 70% growth in viewership under her direction. A prominent voice in film criticism, Etemadi has contributed over 1,000 articles and reviews to leading publications, including Film Magazine (Tehran), as well as live television appearances as a film critic on the morning program Halaa Khorshid. In 2014, she was recognized with the Best Interviewer Award by the Iranian Society of Film Critics and Writers. Her standing in the industry is further reflected in her extensive jury work across prestigious international festivals. She has served as jury member at the Farhang Foundation Film Festival (California), the 28th and 29th Palm Springs International ShortFest, the Mozaik Bridging the Borders Award at both the Palm Springs International Film Festival and the Polish Film Festival (California), and the SEEfest - South East European Film Festival. She also served as Festival Director of CinemaTours Film Festival on Kish Island, Iran, and co-founded the Sheed Film Festival in Dallas, Texas - a platform dedicated to bringing Iranian cinema to global audiences.
