Phil Coorey (full name Phillip Coorey) is a prominent Australian journalist, currently serving as the political editor for The Australian Financial Review.
He has a long and distinguished career covering federal politics, which began in 1998 as a political correspondent for The Advertiser. He later worked as a New York correspondent for News Corp Australia and as chief political correspondent for The Sydney Morning Herald before joining The Australian Financial Review.
Coorey is known for his extensive contacts within the political sphere and his ability to break major political stories. He is a two-time winner of the Paul Lyneham Award for Canberra press gallery excellence. He also regularly appears on political panel television programs such as ABC's Insiders.
