Reginald T. Dorsey is an award-winning American film and television actor and filmmaker. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas until age 10, he then moved with his family to San Jose, California, where he excelled as a student and high school athlete in football and track.
Despite his athletic success, his passion for acting proved stronger. At 13, during an open casting call in Dallas for the film "Book of Numbers," filmmaker Raymond St. Jacques noticed him and created a lead role specifically for him. At 16, Reginald left home for Hollywood to pursue his career as an actor and filmmaker.
Now a seasoned professional in film and television, his respect and dedication to his craft have only deepened after years of sacrifice. His extensive credits include "Miracle of the Heart: A Boys Town Story," "21 Jump Street," "Booker," "Return to Lonesome Dove," "Monogamy," "5th Ward," the critically acclaimed "South Central," "The Cherokee Kid," and the award-winning "Kings of the Evening," which he also produced.
A third-generation true Texas cowboy, Reginald is passionate about teaching riding lessons, training and raising horses, and competing in rodeos—most notably the Bill Pickett Invitational, where he serves as co-grand marshal. He has won championships in team roping and team penning.
His work with children and his commitment to positively impacting lives remain a profound source of inspiration for him as both an artist and a man, giving all glory to The Great Spirit for his many blessings.
