Bodie Thoene is a globally acclaimed author and screenwriter, with over 35 million books sold and translations in 20 languages. In 2010, her novel Prague Counterpoint won the prestigious Audie Award for Most Inspirational Fiction, competing against the multi-million seller The Shack. Bodie's articles have appeared in The Saturday Evening Post, U.S. News & World Report, and The American West. In the 1970s, she worked as a screenwriter for John Wayne's Batjac Productions and co-wrote Fall Guy with John Wayne's stunt double Charles H. Roberson.
Bodie's fascination with Israel, which led to THE ZION CHRONICLES, began during her student years. In 1978, she discussed with John Wayne her dream of writing a novel about the dramatic events surrounding Israel's rebirth. He encouraged her, saying, "That's one you ought to do. It's the story of the Jewish Alamo!" Upon publishing the first book in THE ZION CHRONICLES, The Gates of Zion, she earned the ECPA Gold Medallion Book Award—the first of eight wins and 25 nominations.
