Yevhen was born in Zaporizhzhia, a city in eastern Ukraine, to a businessman and a seamstress. At school, he took part in all activities, which is why the administration fell in love with him. He has an older brother, a famous Ukrainian director and actor Ruslan Khanumak. In 2015, he entered the Zaporizhzhia Institute of Economics and Information Technologies and graduated with a bachelor's degree. While studying at the institute, he constantly made amateur films. He played on stage and worked as a leading MC in various nightclubs in Zaporizhzhia. Later he entered the Kyiv Academy of Media Arts and graduated with a degree in filmmaking. In 2019, his brother started filming a lot, and Yevhen was always on the set. Later he started filming himself. He was hired by a Kyiv production company, where he began to discover himself as a director. Later, he left there and was hired as a set director at a large Ukrainian production company Amo (dramatizeMe).
