Macee Binns is a multifaceted artist recognized for pushing creative boundaries both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Before stepping behind the scenes, Macee found on-screen success with roles in the cult films FDR: American Badass!, American Ultra, The Fortune Theory, Static, and Miles Away. She also graced the small screen, landing roles in TV series like 2 Broke Girls, Men of a Certain Age, Man Up, The Doctors, and Luck. Bringing her comedic energy to the screen, she appeared in a sketch alongside Andy Samberg on Comedy Bang! Bang!. She also embraced her love of the mysterious by appearing in several episodes of The History Channel's Hangar 1: The UFO Files, which later climbed into Netflix's Top 10.
As a casting director, Macee has helped bring more than 300 commercials, films, reality shows, documentaries, music videos, game shows, live events, and print campaigns to life for global brands like Netflix, Marc Jacobs, Hyundai, Apple, H&M, Vice, Starbucks, J.Crew, and Disney. Early in her casting career, she quickly distinguished herself with exceptional work on the high-profile Microsoft Xbox "We All Win" and Mastercard "True Name" Super Bowl campaigns-both of which earned prestigious Cannes Lions Grand Prix awards for their groundbreaking narratives.
In 2024, Macee took a leap into entrepreneurship by co-founding Black Sheep Casting with longtime partners Fernanda Chaves and Mercedes Manning, launching a casting company committed to championing diversity, authenticity, and bold creative expression. Black Sheep Casting has already made a powerful impact, with work featured during the Super Bowl and at the Cannes Film Festival-garnering multiple awards. Among their standout achievements was casting Cetaphil's Swiftie-themed Super Bowl spot, "Game Time Glow," which was celebrated as the Most Emotional Ad of the Night by Vogue, The Hollywood Reporter, and Variety. They also cast Crayola's "Returning Creativity" documentary, which went on to win three Bronze Cannes Lions and Best in Integration at the PRWeek US Awards in 2025.
Macee's writing career is as impressive as her casting work-and the place where her true passion shines. Known for creating daring, unapologetic narratives centered on distinctive female protagonists, her body of work spans award-winning screenplays, plays, articles, and short stories. Her standout script, Hand Twins-a fearless, female-led romantic drama challenged conventions and earned 17 screenwriting accolades, including winning Best Feature Screenplay at the 2022 California Women's Film Festival. The script also gained recognition by placing as a Semifinalist at the prestigious 2022 ScreenCraft Film Fund Feature Competition (judged by Mark Duplass) and as a Finalist at the 2021 Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards. As a result, LA Indies Independent Film Magazine named Macee an Up-and-Coming Hollywood Screenwriter in a feature celebrating her work, and in January 2023, Hand Twins was honored by being featured on the distinguished Cannes Film Awards Distribution List as the screenplay of the month.
In a new screenwriting venture, Macee completed her feature screenplay The Pyramid Scheme-a gutsy, female-driven revenge thriller. Blending psychological suspense with dark humor and horror, the script offers a sharp critique of misogyny, exploring the extreme lengths scorned women will go to reclaim their power in a male-dominated world. The script has already gained industry attention and was named one of the top 14 scripts in InkTip's 2025 Pitch to Page Feature Screenwriting Contest.
Beyond screenwriting, Macee has enjoyed success as a playwright, with her works gracing the stages of regional and community theaters across the U.S. Monologues from her original play Stone Cold Sober were selected by Smith & Kraus Publishers for inclusion in their popular anthology series The Best Women's Stage Monologues of 2017, sold at major retailers including Barnes & Noble and Target. Her stage play Row 28 was published by JAC Publishing & Promotions, and her comedic one-act Candi With an I was acquired by Heuer Publishing, featured in their renowned Catalog for the Performing Arts, and is now available through retailers worldwide.
Macee's passion for storytelling also extends to journalism, with years of experience working as an editorial content writer for major media outlets including TheRichest, Ranker, and TopBuzz-where several of her articles went viral, attracting more than 3 million views. She further showcased her journalistic range during her two years as a general assignment reporter at The Canyon News in Los Angeles. In 2018, Macee was recruited by Dancing Iguana Productions to serve as a segment writer and creative producer for the hit podcast Left Unsupervised with Elizabeth Morales, available on iTunes and Spotify.
