Alex Weiner is a BAFTA-nominated actor renowned for his role as Rocket Raccoon in the AAA video game Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, developed by Eidos Montreal and published by Square Enix. He delivered full performance capture and voiceover for the character, earning critical acclaim and receiving nominations from BAFTA, CGN, and DICE, alongside wins at the ACTRA and GANG Awards.
Beginning his career at 17, Alex was cast as Tom Goldberg in Olivier Abbou's Territories, acting alongside Michael Mando and Cristina Rosato. Soon after, he portrayed Ricky the Pizza Boy in Blue Mountain State's "Drunk Tank," a role remembered for its comedic vodka-snorting scene with co-creator Chris Romano.
At 23, Alex starred in Ramiro Belanger's ClydeCynic, a dark drama about a prodigal hypnotist who inflicts trauma on his patients as a way to confront his own troubled past. His performance was praised by The Hollywood Reporter as "[...] perfect. Weiner's big doe eyes and baby face make his descent into violence all the more disturbing." The film premiered at the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea, earned distribution, and won multiple awards globally.
Alex also starred as Jimmy Basso in the TV pilot Fugazi, which he co-created with longtime collaborator Jesse Camacho. His role garnered a 2019 ACTRA award nomination for Best Actor. Together, Jesse and Alex founded Camacho Weiner Inc, a film company dedicated to storytelling and intellectual property development.
Beyond on-screen acting, Alex is an accomplished voice-over artist with numerous credits, notably voicing the Tangerine/Toronto Raptors campaign during the 2019 playoffs and finals. A prolific video game performer, he has contributed to the Assassin's Creed series, Outlast 2, Far Cry 5, Deus Ex, and more projects forthcoming.
