Since 2007, Luis 'Perla' has provided choruses and backing vocals for his rapper friend, Darmo. In his personal life, Luis is known as Lucho, the name his family and friends use.
Perla's breakthrough came with his debut performance in Darmo's "Mantenlo Ilegal" music video, which opened the door to an acting career. After watching the video, the producers of Antena 3's TV series "Los protegidos" invited him to audition, leading to the creation of the character 'Culebra'—a young man raised in orphanages and children's shelters. Currently, he is filming the third season of the series, soon to be broadcast on Antena 3. The character 'Culebra' made Luis very popular, and soon after, he began receiving offers for roles in feature films.
His first feature film role was in Three Steps Above Heaven (2010), where he starred alongside Mario Casas and María Valverde in the highest-attended Spanish film of that year. His second film, Paranormal Xperience 3D (2011), directed by Sergi Vizcaíno and produced by Rodar y Rodar, was released in late December 2011. Lucho played a leading role alongside Amaia Salamanca, Maxi Iglesias, and Úrsula Corberó, among others. In fall 2011, Lucho joined the main cast of Tengo ganas de ti, the sequel to Three Steps Above Heaven, which takes place two years after the events of the first film. He earned the Best Upcoming Actor award at the latest Must Awards, collaborates with the brand AXE as a member of the Seducing Experts Committee, and actively participates in various charitable campaigns.
