Graeme Ronald Strachan was born in Malvern, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He was most famously the lead singer in Australian rock band, Skyhooks from 1975 to 1978. After his time in the band, he was the host of children's TV series, Shirl's Neighbourhood (1979), 1979-1983 He was later a production manager, known for Cold Harvest (1999), Schweitzer (1990) and Traitor's Heart (1999). He died when the helicopter he was piloting crashed on August 29, 2001 in Mount Alexander, Queensland, Australia.
