Christopher Robert (Rob) Bowen is an American actor and producer. He was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Lorna Mae Rosamond, an order controller, and Robert Larry Bowen, a construction worker. Raised with his parents and older sister Kimberly on 10 acres in the remote Bethel area, Bowen began acting as a child in musical plays at the Shawnee Little Theater. Though he stepped away from acting during his teenage years to focus on sports, he rekindled his passion for acting while performing in his senior class play at Bethel High School. Bowen attended Shawnee High School until his junior year, but due to poor behavior and grades, his parents transferred him to the smaller Bethel High School, where he graduated in 1991. Religion played a significant role in his upbringing, and he regularly attended both Baptist and Church of Christ services.
After high school, Bowen moved to Dallas, Texas, where he quickly found an agent and began working on several small projects, including a guest role on "Walker, Texas Ranger" starring Chuck Norris. After several years in Dallas, he relocated to Los Angeles to further pursue his career. In L.A., he landed roles in various projects, notably appearing opposite Melissa Joan Hart on the popular television show "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" in 1999. Soon after, Bowen met his future wife and chose to take a ten-year hiatus from acting to raise their family. He returned to the stage in 2010 with the musical "Evita" and followed up in 2011 by winning the "Outstanding Male in a Supporting Role" award for his portrayal of Capt. Jack Ross in the play "A Few Good Men" at the High Street Arts Center in Moorpark, California.
Bowen is best known on screen for his role as a bank manager coerced into committing a crime while his family is held hostage in the LionsGate action film "Marauders" (2016). He also portrayed an ex-military aspiring hero named Eric alongside Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the LionsGate movie "Heist/Bus 657" (2015), which also stars Robert De Niro. Other notable roles include acting opposite Adrian Grenier in "Arsenal/Southern Fury" (2017) and Bruce Willis in the action-heist film "Precious Cargo" (2016). "Precious Cargo" was Bowen’s second film with Willis, following his role as CIA agent Purvis in "Extraction" (2016). In addition to acting, Bowen has produced several projects and has multiple larger productions in development.
