David Cornue is a writer, producer, and composer who created, wrote, and executive produced the ABC/20th Television medical drama Triage, collaborating with executive producer Erica Messer (Criminal Minds) and director Jon M. Chu (Wicked, In the Heights). He served as executive producer on Coach with Bill Belichick and Matt Patricia for ESPN+ and is developing a television adaptation of Stephen King's Insomnia with Rideback (It, It: Chapter Two). As a writer and consulting producer, he has developed projects for ABC, Fox, A&E, and USA Network.
Cornue wrote, produced, and scored the pilot presentation Unspeakable, which premiered at SXSW and won Best Pilot at several festivals. He also wrote, directed, and scored the horror short Let It Kill You, and wrote and scored Temporary. Through his production company, New Core Productions, he produced and sold three independent features and wrote and produced the sports comedy #Lucky Number, starring Tom Pelphrey and Method Man.
He was selected for the inaugural class of Ron Howard and Brian Grazer's Imagine Impact and for the Fox Writers Lab. A classically trained composer, his work spans film scores, songs on produced albums, and the musical Smoking Bloomberg, which won Best New Musical at the New York Musical Theatre Festival.
Cornue has taught screenwriting for over a decade through private coaching and script development and is the author of Stop Writing!, published in 2026.
