S. Siobhan McCarthy, an award-winning film and web series producer, serves as the CEO and Executive Producer of blyssful Productions and red trike media inc. She is the co-creator, Executive Producer, and Showrunner of the web series Parked, currently featured on the festival circuit. Parked received funding from the BC Film + Media Interactive Fund, the IPF, and Creative BC, and participated in the CFC Media Lab's ideaBOOST Affiliate Program. The series has been showcased at numerous prestigious web festivals, earning nominations for Best Comedy, Best Canadian Series, Best Actor, and Outstanding Achievement in Comedy. Peter DeLuise won Best Director for Parked at the Vancouver Webfest 2015. The series has gone viral on three separate platforms.
Her first feature film as a producer, Down Here, premiered at the 2013 Whistler Film Festival and had its theatrical release in April 2015. As an innovative, transdisciplinary artist and educator, McCarthy also produced WAM, British Columbia's first international disability media festival, through Kickstart Disability Arts while serving as Co-Artistic Director. During her tenure, she Executive Produced five short films, including WILL, which won the Golden Sheaf at the 2013 Yorkton Film Festival, and PATIENCE AND ABSURDITY, which represented Canada at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. McCarthy has managed production for the Vancouver International Film Festival Forum for over ten years. She maintains a slate of film, television, and web projects in development. In 2014, she was named a Bell Media National Fellow and received the WIFT Banff Scholarship.
In 2015, McCarthy was invited to join the CMPA Berlinale EFM Delegation, where she pitched her film slate to industry stakeholders. In May, she attended Cannes Marché du Film's Producer's Network to pitch red trike's projects and represent The Twisted Slipper in the Cannes Court Métrage.
In addition to producing, McCarthy works as an educator, actor, writer, and director, also developing digital strategies and managing social media communities for various broadcast properties, including W Network's The Cupcake Girls (Seasons 2 & 3), HGTV's Urban Suburban (Seasons 1 & 2), OWN's Murder She Solved True Crime (Seasons 2 & 3), and Food Network's Family Cook Off.
