He is a co-founder of Ryan Murphy's Half Initiative and served as the Program Director in its inaugural years by developing the initiative's Directing Mentorship Program, Guild Trainee Program, Production Assistant Intensive Program as well as the Internship Program. Tanase Popa has also worked at Pixar Animation Studios on the Academy Award® and Golden Globe®-winning animation film, Coco. He has served as a Company Manager to Broadway shows and national tours of Wicked, Next to Normal, Sweeney Todd, Company and Gypsy.
