Avi Youabian is an Emmy nominated, award winning director. His television work includes Countdown, All American, The Walking Dead, Rescue: HI-Surf, Magnum P.I., Quantum Leap, Supergirl, Another Life, and FBI: International. A USC School of Cinematic Arts alumnus, Avi began his career as an editor before transitioning into directing. That background continues to shape the way he works on set, giving him a clear understanding of story structure, rhythm, coverage, and how every choice will ultimately cut together. His process is deliberate and efficient, rooted in knowing what a scene needs, what can be simplified, and how to protect performance, pace, and visual intent through production. His early directing work includes the digital series Tainted Love, which was recognized by Variety as one of the Top 10 Web Series of 2013. He later directed Tom Clancy’s Wildlands and earned an Emmy nomination for his directing and producing work on The Walking Dead: Red Machete. Prior to directing television, Avi's editing work brought him onto projects for filmmakers and producers including Halle Berry, John Wells, Brad Anderson, and Jon M. Chu. He has since directed for major studios, networks, and streaming platforms, building a body of work across broadcast, cable, and streaming television.
