Jeanette Milio is an experienced producer and financier of film and television, with over 25 years of work spanning three continents. She has contributed to the production and distribution of content valued at more than $250 million. She currently serves as CEO of Alliance Cinema, a Beverly Hills-based company specializing in film and TV content, finance, and production.
Ms. Milio has been involved in the development, financing, production, and distribution of over 50 projects featuring Academy Award®-winning talent both on-screen and behind the scenes. Her work has been distributed by major studios, networks, and streaming platforms such as Paramount, Lionsgate, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros, HBO, Showtime, ABC, USA Network, Discovery, TLC, National Geographic, Apple, Amazon, and Netflix, as well as European broadcasters and distributors.
Originally from Germany, Ms. Milio began her career with the German network RTL, working on adaptations of FAMILY FEUD, JEOPARDY, PRICE IS RIGHT, and other daily programs. She later transitioned to scripted series and films, including five seasons of the prime-time drama WILDBACH for ARD and the feature film KREIS DER ANGST for PRO SIEBEN/SAT1.
After moving to the United States in 1999, Ms. Milio produced content for major studios and networks, including the comedy TIMESHARE starring Nastassja Kinski and Timothy Dalton (distributed by ABC Disney/Freevee); the action/thriller 13 featuring Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Michael Shannon, and Curtis Jackson (Paramount Vantage); the thriller THE EXPERIMENT starring Adrien Brody and Forrest Whitaker (Sony Pictures, Netflix); and DARK TIDE, starring Halle Berry and directed by John Stockwell (Lionsgate). In television, she developed, financed, produced, and distributed both fiction and non-fiction series, such as the competition show GLOBAL BEAUTY MASTERS (TLC) and its spin-off THE LOOK ALL-STARS (CW Network). She also managed DOG WHISPERER WITH CESAR MILLAN, which aired nine seasons on National Geographic Channel and was sold in over 180 countries. Recently, she co-created, financed, and produced two seasons of DOG MASTERS starring Laura Nativo and Alex Rossi, and co-produced OPERATION HIDDEN TREASURES, which aired on Discovery Channel and the American Heroes Channel.
Since 2006, Ms. Milio has focused on financing content across various sectors of the entertainment industry, including debt financing and asset-backed lending with institutions such as Comerica, Union Bank, JP Morgan Chase, Mercantile Bank, Deutsche Bank, and Commerz Bank. She has also been involved in bridge lending and equity financing with media funds in the US and internationally. She managed Far East National Bank's media fund and the Camden Equity fund, financing over forty film and television projects. She later founded her own film fund, Magnet Media, which has financed theatrical features and series with a total production volume of $60 million. Additionally, Ms. Milio structures media funds for private clients, family offices, and commercial institutions worldwide and advises Film Incentive Offices in the US and abroad on optimizing production incentives and training local industry professionals in writing, production, finance, and distribution.
Jeanette is represented by The Gersh Agency as the creator and writer of two television series currently in negotiations with a major streaming service.
She is the author of ENTERTAINMENT FINANCE TODAY, a comprehensive guide to financing, producing, and distributing film and television content. Ms. Milio is a member of the Producer's Council for The Producers Guild of America and the Cannes Film Festival Producer's Network.
Jeanette also teaches through platforms such as Stage32 and the UCLAx Entertainment Studies Program, where she received the 2022 Distinguished Instructor Award.
She lives in California with her husband and their three children.
