Miles is deeply passionate about his sport, constantly pushing its boundaries by pioneering new forms like skyaking and rope-swing BASE jumping.
"It's a magical experience when you fall through the air," says Miles Daisher. His love for canopy work has led him to complete over 4,500 BASE jumps, alongside 3,100 skydives. In 2005, he set a BASE jumping record by making 57 jumps in a single day, ascending nearly 29,000 vertical feet in total.
Raised on military bases as a United States Air Force brat, Miles’ diverse upbringing explains his UK wrestling championship and pole vault achievements. He made his first solo skydive at 25 and his first BASE jump two years later. Now, he teaches skydivers how to BASE jump, and together with his wife Nikki, organizes the annual Perrine Bridge Festival to support children with special needs.
Miles is always excited to promote innovative sports such as 'skyaking'—aerobatic skydiving while seated in a kayak, allowing for high-performance water landings—and 'rope-swing BASE jumping,' which involves swinging off a building or bridge to launch a BASE jump. His skills have also been showcased on screen in major films like Iron Man 3 and Human Flight 3D. "Instead of actors doing their own stunts, we’re stuntmen doing our own acting," he jokes. Reflecting on Human Flight 3D, he adds, "We captured incredible footage. Viewers will feel like they're right there in the harness with us!"
In 2017, he returned to the record books by setting a new world record for the most unassisted BASE jumps in 24 hours, completing 63 jumps. During that period, Miles climbed over 30,500 vertical feet—about 1,500 feet taller than Mount Everest.
