Eric, born and raised in Evanston, Illinois, developed a love for both sports and drama early on. Excelling in track and football, he also took part in local talent shows. His enthusiasm for the arts and an early commercial role led him to enroll in the University of Colorado's theater program, though he left after just one week. Finding the structured drama curriculum unfulfilling, he attempted to return home but was compelled to stay in school. To support himself financially, Eric turned to construction. Spending four years painting and installing crown molding in homes across Colorado laid the groundwork for his future career.
After graduating, Eric relocated to Los Angeles and began remodeling houses. His keen design sense, meticulous attention to detail, and skilled craftsmanship attracted attention from many, including A-list celebrities. In 1993, he launched his own company, Big House Construction, which quickly became a thriving business. Eric has remodeled homes for Mel Gibson, Dylan McDermott, Elijah Wood, Jasmine Guy, and his parents, Sally and Erv Stromer.
Despite his business success, Eric has maintained his passion for entertainment. An accomplished singer and songwriter, he has created and performed music for "The Drew Carey Showtime Special," Christopher Walken's film "The Wild Side," and various television shows. He also produced, scored, and starred in "The Acting Thing," a comedy short that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and won best comedy short at the Houston Film Festival.
Eric's dedication and hard work have allowed him to merge his passions for construction and acting. He is currently working on TLC's "Clean Sweep," where he uses his building skills to transform homes. The show features couples competing to renovate their rooms from chaotic to serene, with Eric remodeling and rebuilding to create organized, functional spaces.
