Charlie Gillette is a New York–based, award-winning Chilean-American actress and filmmaker. Born in Berlin, Germany, and raised as a military brat, she experienced life in multiple cities worldwide and learned several languages, including Spanish and Japanese.
After earning a Film Studies degree from Columbia University, Charlie completed a Master’s in Acting for stage, screen, and radio at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in the UK.
Her work has been showcased and honored at major film festivals, praised for her ability to portray characters with raw vulnerability and inner strength that captivate audiences.
Charlie frequently plays strong women who bravely forge their own paths, even in difficult and hostile settings. She recently starred as a determined Hollywood assistant confronting her celebrity boss in the indie drama *Lucky To Be Here*. In the award-winning drama *Belle*, she portrayed a young woman breaking free from a predetermined life. In her latest indie thriller, *Versace Softboi*, Charlie embodies a courageous heroine who faces the risks of online dating head-on, stepping beyond her comfort zone.
Beyond acting, Charlie is a bold filmmaker unafraid to explore complex themes. Beginning with writing for MTV's *Skins*, she has maintained an unflinching filmmaking style that blends various genres and techniques. Her debut feature film examines how shifting borders, nationalism, and technology affect a young couple’s relationship in an increasingly divided world. Her work has been featured in *The Hollywood Reporter*, *Bustle*, *Teen Vogue*, and *Elle*, and she also directs music videos in Japan.
