Drew Lewis Guerra is an Emmy-nominated, award-winning writer, director, and editor with fifteen years of industry experience in commercials, music videos, film, and television. Known for his strong post-production background, Drew approaches every shot with the edit in mind. He has collaborated with major clients like Netflix, Hulu, and Discovery+, creating content for global brands such as Delta, Perrier, and Capital One with his Los-Angeles based production company, Black Canvas Productions.
A Houston native, Drew's filmmaking journey began at age 12 when his father brought home a VHS-C camcorder. By high school, he had written, directed, and edited several short films. As a director, he empowers a "leading from the front" philosophy with his bold ideas, attention to detail and strong sense of collaboration. His most recent project, The Last Light (2025) explores the quiet beauty of human connection in the face of catastrophe. Drew's previous short film, The Traveler (2023), a prehistoric action-adventure, was selected by nearly thirty festivals worldwide, earning six awards and multiple nominations. Drew holds a Bachelor of Science in Film Studies from Full Sail University (2010).
