Richard Harrison is a multi-award winning filmmaker and scriptwriter in film and television. He's Directed or Produced well over 80 television programmes over a 20 year period, from international adventure, current affairs, wildlife and extreme location documentaries, to the highest profile reality programmes to pure, fly-on-the-wall documentaries. His 18th film was a two hour feature on Saturday night, prime time in the U.S. He had won six awards for Directing and Scriptwriting and has been nominated for a further thirteen. He worked in every aspect of television production from comedy & light entertainment to investigative journalism, news, documentary and reality TV; as well as film, national newspapers, radio & PR for over 30 years.
His latest screenplay, Handful of Thieves has just reached the finals in Scriptapalooza, Francis Ford Coppola's international screenplay competition, one of the most respected in the world, and the script will now be promoted in Hollywood for the next twelve months by the festival. It was also presented on stage at AFM 2025 in front of Cassian Elwes who judged it 'a winner'.
'Handful of Thieves', already has two 'named' Spanish and Latin actors attached to star, via one of Spain's leading casting directors, as well as two Emmy nominated and Oscar nominated crew members. 'Handful of Thieves' also has a ten part TV series attached to run after the film, with the next film, 'Fast Lane To Eden' ready to run straight after.
His drama/film credits range from his hugely commercial short film, 'Sweet Thing', to one of the biggest cult-movies in the world, 'The Honey Killer'. A multi-award winning feature film which was one of the biggest online films in the world from 2018-2022.
