Dayna Devon is well-known as an entertainment news journalist, expert, and host. As the longest-serving host of the nationally syndicated Extra (1994), she interviewed many of the world’s top celebrities and covered nearly every major red carpet event, from the Grammys to the Oscars, for over a decade. She is now expanding her career by launching a women's fitness and lifestyle brand named "Dayna Devon" in January.
Following her tenure at Extra, Devon hosted several programs on the Reelz Channel, including the Fashion Fanatics series, as well as record-breaking entertainment specials on Marilyn Monroe and Princess Diana.
In 2013, Devon starred in the headline-making TLC reality special Plastic Wives, which focused on the wives of prominent Beverly Hills plastic surgeons.
She has made multiple appearances on HSN and ShopHQ (formerly ShopNBC), setting sales records for weight-loss products.
Devon has also been a frequent commentator for CNN, Fox News Channel, MSNBC, and The TV Guide Channel. She has served as a celebrity guest host on The View (1997) and appeared on NBC's Today Show (1952) and CBS Mornings (1954). Additionally, she has portrayed herself on popular TV shows such as Desperate Housewives (2004), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000), Two and a Half Men (2003), NCIS (2003), among others.
Throughout her career, Devon has participated in numerous charity events and fundraisers, including Race to Erase MS, and has been a spokesperson for Teachers Count. She has hosted Ladies Home Journal’s Funny Ladies We Love event and co-hosted More magazine’s Alpha Woman Award honoring Senator Hillary Clinton. Furthermore, she co-hosted Movieline magazine’s annual Hollywood Style Hall of Fame Awards and Hollywood Life’s Stylemakers Awards for three consecutive years.
A Texas native, Devon graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband and two children.
